Unaccompanied Youth Program

In 2012, Palmetto Place expanded their services to house and provide wraparound services to unaccompanied youth (non-systems youth experiencing homelessness ages 15-21, all genders). Since 2012, Palmetto Place has provided housing and services to more than 400 youth. The program is located in West Columbia, South Carolina. The Unaccompanied Youth Program has 3 components:

  • Basic Center Program (FYSB)- A federal Runaway & Homeless Youth program that provides housing and wraparound services for up to 21 days to runaway and homeless youth through age 17. For more information on RHY programs, visit this site. To refer a youth, complete the form below.

  • Transitional Housing Program - Housing and wraparound services for homeless, non-systems youth ages 17 through 20. In this program, youth work diligently on achieving independent living skills, a diploma or GED, and a stable job. The ultimate goal is for the youth to graduate from the program and move into Samantha’s House, a Scattered Site Unit, or obtain their own permanent housing and self-sustainability.   • Aftercare Program - After exiting the transitional housing program, youth receive support services for up to 12 months from our Aftercare Coordinator. These services include resource navigation and stable, positive support from an adult.
